Little Sit Downs- Vol. I

My entire life I have been obsessed with documenting my surroundings. Whether it's through writing, photography or video. After being diagnosed with MS and noticing my memory is haywire more often than I'd prefer, speaking with friends and family about their journey, what they stand for and what makes them happy has become therapeutic for me.  It allows me to get to know my loved ones on a different level, than I previously had and it brings answers to questions they may not have thought of.

So I present to you the first of hopefully many,  "Little Sit Downs". This first installment features one of my best friends Rashawn, who is mentioned in certain stories within the blog. We met almost 10 years ago and instantly became attached. She is an amazing, caring woman who is a brilliant photographer, chef and sneakerhead (she has a whole bedroom dedicated to all of her sneakers, she was even featured in a magazine for her collection). I dubbed her the "Mayor of Harlem", because no matter where you are in Harlem, she will know someone or they will spot her. She has the gift of charisma, that will compel you to want to get to know more about her. Her insight on life is a constant conversation with us, so I'm honored she agreed to do this interview in her beautiful home.
